David Miller, MD, MBA

David C. Miller, MD, MBA, a native of Florida, received his medical education at University of Florida School of Medicine in Gainesville, FL. He did his residency in Family Practice at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, VA and Fairfax Family Practice Center in Vienna, VA. Dr. Miller served in the US Army and was stationed in Heidelberg Germany as Unit Commander and sole physician caring for 2500 army troops at Germersheim Army Depot. He received an MBA from the College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, VA in 1991and has practiced medicine for over 30 years. After relocating to North Carolina he joined Cabarrus Family Medicine in Concord in 1998. He received the Family Physician Teacher of the Year Award in 2001. He maintains his board certification in Family Practice while serving as the Medical Director of Carolinas Research Associates. Dr. Miller is also Board certified as a Physician Investigator by the Academy Pharmaceutical Physicians and Investigators.
 
Dr. Miller and his wife, Sharon have been married for 42 years. They have a son and daughter. His interests include playing the guitar, writing poetry, reading and politics. He and Sharon enjoy traveling, movies, stage productions and live music.
 
Dr. Miller has been involved as a principal investigator in clinical research studies for over 5 years. The studies he has done include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, COPD, erectile dysfunction, overactive bladder, migraine headaches, GERD, IBS, ulcerative colitis, Gout, and arthritis.

 
David Burack, MD

Dr. David Burack founded the Carolina Center for Rheumatology and Arthritis Care, PA in 1990.  Prior to that he earned degrees at Duke University (B.S. 1979), Vanderbilt University (M.D. 1983) and completed five years of residency and fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh.  He did his Fellowship in Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology and has been  a Fellow in the American College of Rheumatology since 1988. 
 
Dr. Burack has been involved in clinical research as a principal investigator and sub-investigator since 1999 with trials that include rheumatoid arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis of the hip and knee, and fibromyalgia.

James M. Wilson, MD

Dr. James Wilson attended Ohio State University (B.S., 1981) and Wright State University (M.D., 1985). He then served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps for nine years.  During that time he completed his residency and did his fellowship training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.  His Fellowship was completed in Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology in 1991.  He is board certified in Rheumatology and a fellow in the American College of Rheumatology. Dr. Wilson joined The Carolinas Center for Rheumatology & Arthritis Care in the summer of 1995.

Dr. Wilson's research experience includes studies in osteoarthritis of the hip and knee, fibromyalgia, gout, and rheumatold arthritis.  He has served as both principal investigator and sub-investigator since 1999.

 

 
Fred Fowler, MD, MBA

Fred C. Fowler, MD, MBA specializes in Adult Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases.

He is married with two children. His interests include running, home improvements, gardening, and history.

Dr. Fowler has served as a principal investigator for clinical research studies for over 13 years in the areas of GERD, Hepatitis, Ulcer Prevention, Ulcerative Colitis, High Cholesterol, Osteoarthritis, Crohn’s Disease, Gout and Dyspepsia.

Dr. Fowler received his medical education at Bowman Gray School of Medicine Winston-Salem, NC, did his residency at University of Florida, Shands Hospital, Gainesville FL and his Fellowship in Gastroenterology & Liver Disease at University of Florida, Gainesville, FL. He also holds a MBA from Wake Forest Winston-Salem, NC. He maintains board certifications in Internal Medicine, and Gastroenterology. Dr. Fowler has practiced medicine since 1993 and is a partner at Carolina Digestive Health Associates, PA.

 
Barry R. Schneider Barry R. Schneider, MD

Elizabeth Rostan, M.D.

Dr. Elizabeth Faircloth Rostan is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology. She received her medical degree from the University of North Carolina School Of Medicine. Following an internship in internal medicine at Emory University, Dr. Rostan completed specialty training in dermatology at Duke University. After her residency, Dr. Rostan pursued further specialized training in the field of laser surgery and dermatologic cosmetic surgery in La Jolla, California, where she completed a fellowship with Drs. Richard Fitzpatrick (Allure Magazine Beauty Innovator) and Mitchel Goldman. 

Dr. Rostan is recognized as an expert in the field of laser surgery. She has lectured and trained physicians nationally and internationally in the field of laser surgery, and has been involved in many clinical studies of innovative laser technologies. She is the author of many scientific articles, abstracts and textbook chapters and is highly regarded by her peers.  She is skilled in both ablative and non-ablative laser techniques to treat sun damage and wrinkles, and is often consulted by her peers for advice. She also provides care in the treatment of venous disorders with sclerotherapy.
